General Exam

At Encino Veterinary Clinic we advocate preventive care as part of our wellness services, starting with a comprehensive physical exam. We also recommend a series of vaccines and boosters, which we keep track of for you. As a convenience to our clients, we send reminders when your pet’s vaccines are due, as well as other services, such as yearly bloodwork, etc. We always discuss diet and nutrition and carry a full line of food and supplements, including an organic diet for dogs and cats. For our puppy patients, we recommend a specific vaccine series as well as a fecal exam and urinalysis. Ideally, pets of all ages should receive a wellness exam at least once a year, and especially for senior pets.

Encino Veterinary Clinic offers advanced in-house diagnostics for most species. We have a full in-house laboratory that measures organ function and provides diagnostics on many diseases. In addition to organ, blood, and electrolyte evaluation, we have specific testing for pancreatic disease, and coagulation disorders. We also screen for the serious viral diseases in cats, Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Aids Virus. Puppies that have severe diarrhea can be tested for Canine Parvovirus while the owner waits. For our outdoor dogs and those that go to parks or on hikes, we offer testing for tick-borne diseases such as Lyme Disease and Ehrlichiosis as well as heartworm screening. Advanced diagnostics are supplemented by outside laboratories, and we use both local labs and those across the country to get the most up-to-date and advanced technology to evaluate our patients for diseases.
